Deoghar, Jan 4: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Gyanesh Kumar, along with his family, offered prayers at the Baba Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar on Saturday and sought blessings.

After reaching the temple with his wife, a team of Tirth Purohits (priests) conducted the worship rituals. The CEC offered holy water on the 12th Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and performed the puja as per tradition.
DC presents memento and prasad
On the occasion, Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra presented Gyanesh Kumar with a memento of Baba Baidyanath and offered prasad. The Chief Election Commissioner expressed satisfaction after performing the puja.

Warm welcome on arrival
Earlier, during his two-day visit to Deoghar, Gyanesh Kumar arrived at Deoghar airport in the afternoon. He was welcomed by Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar, DIG Santhal Pargana Division Ambar Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra, Superintendent of Police Saurabh, and SDO Ravi Kumar.
Visit to AIIMS and Basukinath Dham
Officials said the Chief Election Commissioner will stay overnight in Baba Nagri Deoghar and visit AIIMS Deoghar. On Sunday, he is scheduled to visit Basukinath Dham.
