PINAKI MAJUMDAR
Jamshedpur, October 17: Clear skies during the day and a nip in the morning air are likely to mark weather conditions across Jharkhand over the next five days, offering favourable conditions for Durga Puja festivities and outdoor activities.
Moderate fog and mist are expected during the morning hours, followed by clearer skies as the day progresses. Dry weather is likely to prevail, providing a welcome break from the spells of heavy rain that disrupted outdoor activities in parts of the state earlier this month.
With Durga Puja celebrations gathering momentum, the forecast is expected to bring relief to puja organisers, street vendors and visitors thronging elaborately decorated pandals across Jamshedpur and other parts of Jharkhand.
Dry Weather Likely to Favour Puja Celebrations
The absence of significant rainfall is expected to help sustain the festive atmosphere, particularly during evening and night-time visits when pandals typically attract large crowds.
The largely dry conditions are also likely to benefit devotees planning early-morning visits and families travelling between different puja venues.
Trough Over Bay of Bengal Influencing Weather Pattern
The India Meteorological Department has attributed the prevailing weather pattern to a trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and its neighbourhood to the northwest Bay of Bengal.
The trough, which earlier extended from the south Tamil Nadu coast to the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast, is now positioned in an altered configuration and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Although the system may influence weather conditions over parts of eastern India, the available forecast indicates no significant change in Jharkhand’s weather pattern.
Motorists Advised to Remain Cautious in the Morning
Morning mist and fog may temporarily reduce visibility, particularly on highways and roads connecting urban centres with suburban areas.
Motorists travelling during the early hours should exercise caution in areas experiencing reduced visibility. As the mist lifts and skies clear, conditions are expected to become more conducive to outdoor activities and festive gatherings.
Favourable Outlook for the Next Five Days
The overall weather outlook for the next five days points towards predominantly dry conditions, with morning mist giving way to clearer skies during the day.
The forecast is likely to support Durga Puja celebrations across Jharkhand without major weather-related interruptions, although localised variations in morning visibility may require caution from commuters and early-morning visitors.
