Ranchi, January 27: Chief Minister Hemant Soren arrived in Ranchi on Tuesday after concluding his visit to Davos and the United Kingdom (London), where he led Jharkhand’s first-ever delegation to the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The Chief Minister received a grand welcome at Birsa Munda Airport, with members of the general public, party supporters and a delegation from the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) greeting him with drums and trumpets.

Jharkhand Makes Debut at World Economic Forum

It was the first time since the formation of Jharkhand that an 11-member state delegation, led by the Chief Minister, participated in the prestigious World Economic Forum at Davos. The global meet saw participation from leading investors, industrialists and dignitaries from across the world.

Officials described the participation as a historic milestone for the state in terms of global outreach and investment promotion.

‘Global Platform Helped Present Jharkhand’s Voice’

Speaking to media persons at the airport, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said Jharkhand used the global platform to present its strengths and future roadmap.

“Through a global conference like the World Economic Forum, Jharkhand has made a serious effort to present its case on a large international platform. You have been receiving updates regularly. On behalf of the state government, we conveyed Jharkhand’s voice in Davos and London,” he said.

Experience to Shape Development Vision

The Chief Minister said the experience gained from the global visit would be used to give a new direction to Jharkhand’s development.

He said the state government would utilise the exposure to focus on Jharkhand’s water, forests, land and immense natural potential, while ensuring sustainable growth. “Positive initiatives will be taken to provide a better future for the coming generations,” he added.

Focus on Education, Youth and Investment

Hemant Soren also highlighted efforts to add new dimensions to education and skill development, stating that strengthening the youth remains a key priority.

“Jharkhand has immense potential. Realising this potential and leading the state on the path of progress is our government’s priority,” the Chief Minister said.
