Ranchi, July 23: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today visited Curesta Hospital in Deepatoli, Ranchi, to check on the health of former international hockey player Bimal Lakra, who is currently undergoing treatment. The Chief Minister personally inquired about Lakra’s condition and held discussions with Dr Sanjay Kumar, Director of Neurosciences at Curesta Health.

Assurance of a Neuro Rehabilitation Centre in Jharkhand

During his visit, CM Soren expressed concern over the lack of specialised neurological care in the state and announced that a Neuro Rehabilitation Centre will be established in Jharkhand in the near future. This initiative aims to reduce the need for patients to seek treatment in other states and to strengthen the local healthcare infrastructure.

“We are committed to ensuring that patients receive the best possible neurological care within Jharkhand itself,” said the Chief Minister, highlighting the government’s intent to enhance state-run medical services.

Update on Bimal Lakra’s Condition

Providing a medical update, Dr Sanjay Kumar stated that Bimal Lakra’s health is steadily improving. “He is under observation, and if his progress continues at this rate, we expect he could be discharged within the next three to four days,” he said.

The former hockey player has received an outpouring of support from the public and the sporting community alike, following news of his hospitalisation.

Prayers for Dishom Guru Shibu Soren’s Recovery

Speaking to reporters, CM Hemant Soren also addressed the health of senior JMM leader and his father, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. “We are all praying for his swift recovery and look forward to having him back among us soon,” the Chief Minister said, echoing the sentiments of countless well-wishers.

Praise for Government’s Healthcare Initiatives

Dr Sanjay Kumar praised the Chief Minister’s proactive approach and sensitivity towards healthcare issues in the state. He welcomed the proposal for a Neuro Rehabilitation Centre, noting it as a much-needed development for patients across Jharkhand.

“Our Chief Minister has always shown great awareness and empathy regarding the state’s healthcare needs,” Dr Kumar added.

The announcement marks a significant step toward strengthening Jharkhand’s healthcare system, particularly in neurological services, and reflects the government’s broader vision for inclusive medical infrastructure development.
