Jamshedpur, Dec 18: Several parts of Jharkhand are in the grip of the cold wave due to the dominating north-westerly wind.
Weathermen said isolated cold wave condition was prevailing over western and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand.
The minimum reading plummeted to as low as 7 degrees Celsius in Garhwa and Ramgarh, four notches below normal.
Bokaro and Chaibasa recorded a minimum reading of around 8 degrees Celsius today, four notches below normal.

The minimum reading hovered around 10 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas while the capital Ranchi recorded around 8 degrees Celsius.
Fog and mist were experienced at several places early this morning. Later, clear weather conditions prevailed.
Weathermen said no significant synoptic situation exists over Jharkhand.
Dry weather prevailed over the state. The highest maximum temperature 28.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 6.7°C was recorded at Garhwa in past 24 hours.
