THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

Indore, April 29: Congress candidate from Indore Lok Sabha seat Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his nomination on the last day today. He has also joined the BJP, marking a major blow to the Congress party.

This move is considered a big setback for Congress, similar to the political drama in Surat. Prior to this, Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination from Surat was cancelled. Following this, the Congress disciplinary committee suspended Nilesh’s primary membership for six years. The disciplinary committee held Nilesh Kumbhani responsible for the cancellation of his nomination from the Surat Lok Sabha seat.

With the withdrawal of his nomination, Akshay Bham has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after leaving the Congress. This information was shared by senior BJP leader and cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh government, Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Sharing a selfie with Akshay Bham, Kailash Vijayvargiya wrote on social media platform, “Congress’s Lok Sabha candidate from Indore, Akshay Kanti Bam, is welcomed into BJP under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President JP Nadda, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and State President VD Sharma.”
