New Delhi, Dec 21: The Congress party will hold nationwide protests on December 24 (Tuesday) in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments on B.R. Ambedkar.
Apart from this, all members of Congress in both houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha), along with CWC members, will address 150 press conferences across the country on December 22 and 23.
According to Congress, these press conferences will highlight the attacks by the BJP on Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Constitution of India.
Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal has sent a circular to all party leaders, stating that a ‘Babasaheb Ambedkar Samman March’ will be organized in each district across the country.

The march will commence with the garlanding of Ambedkar’s statue and will conclude with the submission of a memorandum to the respective District Magistrates (DM).
Leaders of the INDI Alliance have been protesting against Home Minister Amit Shah in the Parliament premises over his speech in the Rajya Sabha on December 17.
The protests followed Amit Shah’s attack on the Congress party, where he remarked that mentioning Ambedkar’s name had become a “fashion” for the party.
“If they had taken the name of God so many times instead of Ambedkar then they would have got heaven for seven lives,” Shah said in Rajya Sabha yesterday.
