Constable posted at Kuchai Thana killed in road mishap

Jamshedpur, Nov 7: Kanhaiya Prajapati (43) who was a constable posted at Kuchai Thana in Seraikela-Kharsawan district succumbed to his injuries sustained in Kharsawan at Tata Main Hospital on Tuesday.

A resident of Baroda Ghat area in Bagbera, Kanhaiya had sustained fatal injuries on being hit by a truck on Kuchai-Seraikela road on Sunday night while he was returning home.

According to police, Kanhaiya was seriously injured as the truck hit from the front causing him to roll down the road. The truck driver had fled the spot, leaving his vehicle abandoned.

A police party had rescued him and rushed him to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital. But as the constable’s condition was deteriorating, he was shifted to Tata Main Hospital the same night.

The police today shifted the body to the MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) mortuary and after the postmortem was over, it was handed over to the victim’s family in the evening.
