Ranchi, Dec 28: The Public Schools and Children Welfare Association (PASWA) paid heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during a condolence meeting organized at Aryabhatt Public School, Khelgaon.

Operators, teachers, and parents of private schools associated with PASWA honoured his memory by offering flowers, lighting lamps before his portrait, and observing two minutes of silence to pray for the peace of his departed soul.

Speaking at the event, PASWA National President Alok Kumar Dubey expressed that the nation would always remember Dr. Manmohan Singh’s immense contributions. He highlighted how Dr. Singh’s economic reforms brought India to the forefront of the global economy, encouraging foreign investment and strengthening industries. Dubey also emphasized the profound loss to the education sector following Dr. Singh’s passing.

Right to Education

“By introducing the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Dr. Manmohan Singh ensured access to education for millions of underprivileged children across India. His initiatives, including the Right to Information, Right to Food, and MNREGA Acts, will remain etched in the minds of the people,” said Dubey.

Dubey further noted that with Dr. Singh’s demise, India has lost a visionary leader who provided the country with economic strength and global recognition.

Challenges faced by private schools in Jharkhand

Referring to the challenges faced by private schools in Jharkhand, Dubey stated, “Private schools are the backbone of the educational system in Jharkhand, and they deserve government support. It was with this intent that Dr. Singh introduced the RTE Act, allowing underprivileged children to access private schools. However, instead of supporting these institutions, the government has imposed strict regulations, which violate the essence of the RTE Act.”

He described Dr. Singh’s personality as simple and gentle, stating that his memory would forever remain in the hearts of the people. “It is impossible to fill the void left by his departure,” he added.

Aryabhatt Public School Director and PASWA State Secretary Manoj Kumar Bhatt, who led the tribute meeting, praised Dr. Singh’s leadership during challenging times. “Dr. Manmohan Singh has left an indelible mark on the country. His contributions will never be forgotten. May God grant peace to his soul,” Bhatt said.

PASWA’s Ranchi Town President, Dr. Sushma Kerketta, described Dr. Singh’s contributions as immortal in shaping India’s development.

The tribute program was attended by hundreds of people, including Rupesh Kumar, Savita Kachhap, Ajay Sharma, Suresh Ram, A.K. Rai, Pankaj Singh, Menhul Dubey, and Sunita Devi, who all paid their respects to the late Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
