Ranchi, Sept 1: Former minister and AJSU leader Ramchandra Sahis has suffered a major setback in the case related to the gherao of the Chief Minister’s residence, as the Civil Court Ranchi’s MP/MLA court has rejected his discharge petition.
The court had reserved its order on August 19 after completing the hearing on Sahis’s petition. Earlier, on May 13, he had filed the plea claiming innocence in the matter.

In the same case, the discharge petitions of Sudesh Mahto and MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary have already been dismissed by the court. With the rejection of these petitions, the court will now move towards framing charges.

The incident dates back to 2021, when Ormanjhi’s then Circle Officer Vijay Kerketta lodged an FIR at Lalpur police station on September 8, 2021, regarding the gherao of the Chief Minister’s residence.
