Dubai, Dec 23: India all-rounder Deepti Sharma has reached the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings for the first time, marking a major personal milestone in the latest weekly update released by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday.

The off-spinner moved to the No.1 position with 737 rating points after her economical spell of 1 for 20 in the opening T20I against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam. Sharma edged past Australia pacer Annabel Sutherland by a single point to claim the top spot.

In the batting charts, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt returned to the summit of the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings following a stellar run against Ireland.

Wolvaardt struck back-to-back centuries—124 and an unbeaten 100—in the second and third ODIs of the home series, extending her lead over India’s Smriti Mandhana to nine points and achieving a career-best rating of 820.

India also saw gains in the T20I batting rankings, with Jemimah Rodrigues jumping five places to ninth after her match-winning unbeaten 69 off 44 balls in Visakhapatnam, which earned her the Player of the Match award.
