New Delhi, Dec 24: Delhi Police busted a gang involved in creating fake IDs and documents on Tuesday. The police have apprehended 11 individuals, including five Bangladeshi nationals and six locals.

According to reports, this group was assisting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in settling in Delhi by providing them with fake documents such as voter IDs and Aadhaar cards.

Operation to identify illegal immigrants

Delhi Police launched an operation on December 11 to identify Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally. As part of the drive, the police are conducting house-to-house verifications, examining documents, and interrogating individuals. Local police and the Foreigners’ Cell have been deployed for this targeted operation.

DCP Ankit Chauhan of South Delhi revealed that fake Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and passports were recovered from the arrested individuals. The website facilitating these activities was operated by Rajat Mishra. Among those arrested is a woman who used a fake Aadhaar card to obtain a voter ID.
