Delhi polls: Kejriwal, Atishi trailing as BJP crosses majority mark

New Delhi, Feb 8: Early trends from the Election Commission show that the Bharatiya Janata Party has surpassed the majority mark in the Delhi Assembly election results.

The BJP holds the lead in 44 seats, while the AAP is ahead in 26 seats.

A party needs 36 seats to secure a majority and form the government in the national capital.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is trailing BJP’s Pravesh Verma in the New Delhi seat by 238 votes.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is behind BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri in the Kalkaji seat by a margin of 2,800 votes.

Delhi Minister and AAP candidate Saurabh Bharadwaj is behind BJP’s Shikha Roy in the Greater Kailash seat by 2,721 votes.

AAP candidate Vishesh Ravi holds a lead of 6,872 votes over BJP’s Dushyant Gautam in the Karol Bagh seat.

AAP’s Amanatullah Khan is leading on the Okhla seat by a vote margin of 9,518.
