Dhanbad, Nov 13: A 26-year-old mother identified as Tabassum Parveen committed suicide with her five-year-old daughter Seefa Parveen by hanging in her father’s house in Sigara area under the Mahuda police station, around 27 km from here, today.
Gulam Rasul, father of the victim told police that he had gone for offering Namaj in the early morning at 5 am. When he returned home after an hour, the room of his daughter was closed from inside.
When Tabassum Parveen did not open the room despite repeated knocking and calling, he along with neighbours broke the door and found both his daughter and the grand daughter hanging with a ‘Chunri’. Both were brought down but before that, they had already died.
Tabassum Parveen had a daughter from her first marriage six years ago. After Talaq in one year, she had a second marriage with Tajuddin Ansari of Puruliya district.
ASI Mahendra Ram who reached the spot after getting information said that the reason for the suicide is not known. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem at a medical college hospital.
