Dhanbad Nov 2: Dhanbad Rail Division of the East Central Railway (ECR) zone again earned the highest revenue among 58 railway divisions of the country in the last seven months of the current fiscal.

Kamal Kishore Sinha, Dhanbad DRM,  told media persons that in the seven months between April 1 to October  31, the Dhanbad division earned the highest revenue of Rs 14,342 crores in the current fiscal to become number one.

Bilaspur Rail Division and Khurda Rail Division were left in the second and third position respectively. They earned Rs 11,835 crores and Rs 8,216 crores respectively during the period.

In the 2022-23 financial year too, the Dhanbad Rail Division was on the top among 58 divisions in the country in freight loading as well as revenue earning.

The Division had set the record for the highest freight loading of 171.32 million tonnes in the 2022-23 fiscal. Bilaspur Rail Division was in second position with 157 million tonnes of freight loading followed by Khurda Rail Division in third position with 155.3 MT freight loading.

On the occasion, DRM Kamal Kishore Sinha also rolled out several development projects including the renovation of railway stations of the division and construction of railway colonies.
