Jamshedpur, February 21: Dry weather conditions continued across Jharkhand over the past 24 hours, with no rainfall recorded at any observation centre, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi.

Day temperatures remained above normal in several districts, signalling a gradual intensification of heat across the state.

Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 33.4°C, nearly four degrees above normal. It was followed by Jamshedpur at 33.0°C and Daltonganj at 32.0°C. Bokaro registered 31.2°C, while Ranchi reported a relatively moderate 28.6°C.

Gumla Coldest at Night; Warmer-Than-Usual Minimums in Several Areas

Night temperatures showed a mixed trend. Gumla emerged as the coldest place in the state, with a minimum temperature of 10.3°C.

Ranchi and Jamshedpur both recorded 16.4°C, while Daltonganj settled at 14.8°C. Several locations reported minimum temperatures above normal, indicating warmer-than-usual nights in parts of Jharkhand.

Data from Automated Weather Stations reflected similar trends, with Saraikela touching 32.8°C and Baharagora 32.7°C.

Hazaribagh recorded a sharp rise in minimum temperature, while Khunti and Simdega experienced comparatively cooler nights.

Visibility Drops in Jamshedpur

Visibility dipped to 2,000 metres in Jamshedpur — the lowest recorded in the state during the observation period.

With clear skies and rising daytime temperatures, Jharkhand continues to witness stable but increasingly warm weather conditions, with no immediate signs of rainfall.
