Duleep Trophy: BCCI announces replacements for Siraj, Umran who will miss first round due to illness

Mumbai, August 27: BCCI’s Men’s Selection Committee announced on Tuesday replacements for pacers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik, who will be unable to participate in the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to illness.

Fast bowler Navdeep Saini will take Mohd. Siraj’s place in the Team B squad, while Gaurav Yadav will fill in for Umran Malik in the Team C squad.

Additionally, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been released from the Team B squad.

The Duleep Trophy, marking the start of the domestic red-ball cricket season, will feature top Indian international players and rising stars competing at a high level. The tournament is set to commence on September 5, 2024, at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh and M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Some prominent Indian players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan will be playing in the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 season.

There are four teams in the tournament, Team A, Team B, Team C and Team D.
