Daltonganj, March 2: Interception/seizure of huge cash, liquor, arms and ammunition, freebies, drugs, precious metals like gold, and jewellery after the ECI enforces the Model Code of Conduct will be digitised data.

The ECI launched this Election Seizure Management System in the Telangana assembly election, and now it will be a pan-India affair in the Lok Sabha election.

QR Code

Under the ESMS, banks are to issue QR codes in PDF format for legal cash transfers.

All interceptions or seizures have now to be an online affair. Again, every interception is no seizure, but every seizure is preceded by interception.

Any person carrying cash above Rs 50,000 has to have a bank QR code detailing the cash drawing location, destination of money, period of cash, if taken by car or vehicle, then vehicle number, driver’s name, etc.

All of these are to check the inflow or outflow of cash meant or planned for influencing voting or voters.

Flying squad to operate ESMS

Flying squad and Static surveillance teams will be tasked to operate the Election Seizure Management System app with finesse.

The online management of interception and seizure will dispel many of the allegations of biased or malicious action.
