Kolkata, Dec 3: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a search operation on Tuesday in West Bengal’s Haldia, Purba Medinipur, as part of its investigation into corruption related to medical college admission quotas.

The ED is targeting several private medical colleges across the state in its raids, including institutions in Haldia, Durgapur, and Kolkata.

It has been reported that forged certificates were used in exchange for money to secure admissions to medical colleges in this case.

In September this year, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court voiced concerns about the issue. Corruption involving quotas in MBBS admissions has been reported in 28 locations nationwide.
