Dhanbad, May 22:  FIDE trainer International Chess Master (IM) Neeraj Mishra will coach budding players of Jharkhand again after two years and five months.

Sources said that Neeraj Mishra will give tips to players in summer camp being organized by the West Singhbhum District Chess Association (WSDCA) from May 27 to June 6 at Sitaram Rungta Recreation Hall Chaibasa.

WSDCA secretary Basant Khandelwal admitted that Neeraj Mishra has agreed to give tips to players in two two-day camps, Players of five years to 16 years old will participate in the summer camp. International rated (1900) Manish Sharma will be a chief coach.

“The summer camp is being held for the promotion of chess and it will help players of the district to excel in the state chess championship,” said Khandelwal.

Neeraj Mishra is an International Master

Coaching by Neeraj Mishra keeps significance as he is 3rd in the country and is an International Master (IM) and International Arbiter (AR). He is a FIDE (international body of chess) trainer. FIDE has made him a coach of Namibia and Cameroon country in the Chess Olympiad held at Chennai in August 2022.

Neeraj Mishra, who was general secretary of the All-Jharkhand Chess Association (AJCA) three times, resigned from the post as well as membership of Jharkhand Chess on December 31 2022 following a dispute with president Pradip Verma (now MP).

Rattled by ill treatment he left Jharkhand and vowed to come never in future.

A Jamshedpur chess organizer said that the return of international master Neeraj Mishra to Jharkhand is a good sign for state chess. He will not only sharpen the minds of players but also promote them at the national level.
