Jamshedpur, April 16: A sudden and powerful roar shattered the late-morning calm in Jamshedpur on Thursday as a fighter jet flew across the city’s skies, catching residents off guard and sparking curiosity.
Jet sighted over Sonari, Kadma
The aircraft was seen over Sonari and Kadma between 11:25 am and 11:30 am. It hovered briefly before disappearing within minutes.
The loud sound forced many people to rush out of their homes. Some feared something unusual, while others climbed onto rooftops to catch a glimpse. For nearly five minutes, the jet dominated the skyline before vanishing.
A resident from Sonari said, “It was an overwhelming noise—we couldn’t understand what it was at first. When we saw the jet, it felt surreal.”
Another resident from Kadma said, “Everyone stepped out at once. Some were scared, but many were excited, especially the elderly. It’s not something you see here every day.”
No official word yet
There has been no official statement on the purpose of the flyover. Such movements are often linked to routine training or navigation drills.
The incident has since become a talking point across the city, leaving residents both thrilled and intrigued.
