For the first time, female MBBS students have shown active interest in these bodies, with girls appointed as conveners in Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital (SMBCH) Hazaribagh, Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital (PJMCH) Dumka, and Palamu’s LCMCH Bishrampur.

PJMCH Dumka witnessed an even stronger representation, where the positions of convener, general secretary, and co-convener have all been assigned to female students. Previously, only girls from RIMS had taken part in such organizational roles, marking this as a significant shift in participation across the state’s medical institutions.

An MSN state committee office bearer said incidents of alleged mismanagement at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata and MMCH Palamu have motivated medical students across Jharkhand to take active roles in student bodies.
