Ranchi, Nov 4: Delhi Public School, Ranchi, witnessed a grand spectacle as it unveiled the inaugural ceremony of ‘Terra Laureate,’ an interschool mega event that promises to be a platform for nurturing the intellectual and creative prowess of young minds. With a plethora of competitive opportunities encompassed around an avant-garde outlook, ‘Terra Laureate’ invites students from various schools to take part in contests that celebrate oratory eloquence, journalism, conventional skills and commercial appreciation.
The event began with an enlightening diction by the principal of the school, Dr. Ram Singh, who inspired the students to strive hard to achieve excellence and to never give up. Elaborating upon Terra Laureate he underscored the significance of such competitions in a student’s life. He spoke passionately about the importance of encouraging students to step beyond their comfort zones and explore their potential. “Terra Laureate is not just an event; it’s an emotion and experience that will help our students become well-rounded individuals,” he added.
The event’s grand opening on 4th November 2023, which took place in the school’s sprawling Vivekananda Auditorium, was attended by an enthusiastic crowd of students and escort teachers of various schools, all eager to witness the talent and potential that this event is set to showcase. The air was charged with anticipation, and the aura exuded positivity and enthusiasm.
This two-day event comprises nine different competitions like DPS Ranchi Model United Nations (DPSRMUN), ‘Ave Scholarium – Debate’, ‘The Orators’ Odyssey – Declamation’, ‘Gourmet Gala- Open Kitchen’, ‘Let’s Talk Stocks- Stock Market Simulation’, ‘Novice’s Gazette – Journal Making’, ‘Pitch Perfect Playoff – Advertisement making’, ‘Web Wizardry – Website Designing’ and ‘PyDev Clash – Timed Python Programming Competition’.
More than 250 students from JVM Shyamali, ODM Sapphire Global School, Bishop Westcott Girls School (Namkum), DAV (Bariatu), DAV (Hehal), Kairali School, Sharda Global School, St. Michael’s School, St. Xaviers (Doranda), Sacred Heart School and DPS Ranchi are participating in these multifarious events.
The esteemed panels of judges included Ivana Chakraborty (Assistant Professor, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi), Nayan Shaurya (Social Activitist), Aloke Poddar (Chief Financial Officer), Dr Mayank Ranjan (Associate Professor, Central University, Jharkhand), Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma (Associate Professor, Ranchi University), Aditi Priya (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Amity University), Dr Seema Prasad (Assistant Professor, Ranchi Women’s College), Chef Suryakanta Roy, Dr. Kasturi Sahay (Head of Institution, Amity School of Business, Amity University Jharkhand), Dr Nitish Bhatia (Assistant Professor, Central University, Jharkhand), Dr. Vinay Bharat (Assistant Professor, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University), Dr Tannisha Kundu (Assistant Professor, Amity University) and Dr Indrajit Mukherjee (Assistant Professor, Department of CSE).
The closing ceremony of the event will be organised on 05th November 2023.
