Ranchi, January 14: The Yonex–Sunrise Jharkhand State Masters Badminton Championship 2026, along with the selection trials for the state team, will be held in Gumla district from February 6 to 8.

An official of the Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) said that competitions will be organised for age groups 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, and 75+ years.

Matches will be held in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.

Entry Deadline February 3

The last date for entry is February 3. Interested senior players can contact officials of the Jharkhand Badminton Association for registration and further details.

The JBA official clarified that only players holding a valid Badminton Association of India (BAI) ID will be allowed to participate in the championship. Players with inactive BAI IDs will not be permitted to compete.

Selection for National Championship

Based on players’ performances at the Gumla championship, the Jharkhand Masters Badminton team will be selected for the National Masters Badminton Championship 2026.

The national championship will be held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
