In preparation for the upcoming assembly elections, MLA Vikas Singh Munda from Tamar engaged in a special dialogue about his development work, challenges, and plans. In this direct interaction with Swami Divyagyan, Munda highlighted his achievements during his tenure and discussed the welfare schemes implemented by the government.
Question: Are you satisfied with your work in the agriculture and irrigation sectors?
Vikas Singh Munda: I am pleased that we have completed 100% canal concretization. Under the Kanchi Irrigation Project and the Aradih Irrigation Project, we achieved full canal concretization, ensuring water reaches the fields. Reviving these once-dead projects brings me immense satisfaction.
Question: How do you assess the work done by the Hemant Soren government over the past five years?
Vikas Singh Munda: The Hemant Soren government is a liberal government working for the welfare of all sections of society. Though some time was taken by the pandemic, the government has reached the most marginalized individuals through various schemes. Initiatives like electricity bill waivers, 200 units of free electricity, the Maiya Scheme, the Sarvajan Pension Scheme, and farmer debt forgiveness stand as testimony.
Question: Who do you consider as your competitor in this election?
Vikas Singh Munda: I have never considered any person or party as my competitor in politics. My true competition has always been with the problems people face, and I have aimed to resolve them as part of my political journey.
Question: What do you consider your most significant achievement during your tenure?
Vikas Singh Munda: Over the last 10 years, we have seen extensive road and bridge construction. We have strengthened the healthcare and education infrastructure in the sub-divisional region, and many improvements in irrigation have also been made.
Question: Do you see JMM as your final political home?
Vikas Singh Munda: Yes, JMM’s ideology aligns with mine. I have joined JMM for the benefit of the people in my region.
