Srinagar, August 30: In Jammu and Kashmir’s Gurez sector, security forces gunned down Hizbul commander Bagu Khan, also known as Samandar Chacha, in an encounter.

Reports suggest Khan was considered the “human GPS” for terrorists. Sources said that another Pakistani infiltrator was also killed alongside him.
According to inputs, on the night of August 28, Bagu Khan was attempting to facilitate infiltration through the Naushera Nar area when security forces intercepted and eliminated him along with another militant.

The gunfight and search operations in the area continued until the morning of August 29.
As reported by The Economic Times, officials confirmed that documents recovered from the slain infiltrators revealed the identity of one of them as Bagu Khan alias Samandar Chacha.
Samandar Chacha had been living in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir since 1995. Security agencies said he had been responsible for aiding over 100 infiltration attempts through the Gurez sector and nearby areas over the past 30 years, most of which were successful.
He was known for his deep knowledge of the region’s mountains and secret routes and was instrumental in assisting multiple terror groups with infiltration plans.

Officials believe his killing marks a significant setback for terrorist organizations, forcing them onto the back foot and jeopardizing their future infiltration attempts.
