Bengaluru, June 15: Hockey India announced on Saturday a core probable group of 40 players selected for a 63-day coaching camp for the junior men’s national team at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bengaluru, commencing from June 16th.
Following the Indian Junior Men’s Team’s European tour, where they played five matches from May 20 to May 29 against Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands club team Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push, this coaching camp is now being organized.
In the European tour, India drew 2-2 with Belgium in their first game (winning 4-2 in the shootout), but lost 2-3 in their second match against Belgium. They suffered a close 4-5 defeat against Bredase Hockey Vereniging. Against Germany, India lost 2-3 in the first game but won 1-1 (3-1 in the shootout) in the return match, which was also the tour’s final game.

The upcoming 63-day camp, led by Coach Janardhana C B and overseen by Hockey India’s High Performance Director Herman Kruis, will conclude on August 18th.
