Daltonganj, September 3: Holy Cross School, near Shivaji Maidan, celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Thursday with colourful cultural activities and devotional fervour.
The celebrations saw young students dressed as Nanha Kanha and Pyaari Radha, creating a festive atmosphere on the school premises. Teachers, staff members and parents joined the children in the celebrations.
A traditional Matki Phod programme was also organised as part of the Krishna Utsav. Parents took special care in preparing their children for the event, dressing them in colourful Krishna and Radha attire.
School chairman Chandrabhushan Sinha, who led the celebrations, encouraged the students to imbibe the teachings of Lord Krishna in their daily lives. He said children should perform their duties with sincerity and devotion without seeking personal gain.
