Hyderabad, Nov 13: Income Tax officers searched the Hyderabad residence of Telangana Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy’s relatives on Monday ahead of the assembly elections in Telangana.
Since 2019, she has held the position of Telangana’s Education Minister.
Income Tax investigators conducted a search at the home of Pradeep, who is purportedly a close relative of the minister.
In 2018, Reddy ran as a Congress candidate in the Maheshwaram constituency and emerged victorious, defying the prevailing TRS dominance in the state.
Later on, she switched to the TRS party and was appointed as the Education Minister in the cabinet led by KCR.
Sabitha Reddy is the TRS nominee for the Maheshwaram seat in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections. In the constituency, she will face off against Andela Sri Ramulu Yadav of the BJP and Kitchannagari Laxma Reddy of the Congress.
At the moment, officials are conducting raids at a pharmaceutical company in Hyderabad and simultaneously conducting searches at 15 various locations throughout the city.
