Tiruvannamalai, Nov 6: Income Tax raids have extended into the fourth consecutive day at locations associated with EV Velu, the Minister of Public Works and Highways Department in Tamil Nadu, in Tiruvannamalai.

The search operations were carried out at places that were allegedly connected to the Minister.

Prior to this, the IT Department conducted searches at four sites in the Karur district in relation to an alleged tax evasion case.

Previously, searches were carried out at businessman Suresh’s office in the Gandhipuram area and at his house in KVP Nagar, as well as at the home of Padma, the late DMK leader Vasugi Murugesan’s sister.

According to sources, Income Tax officers also conducted searches at the residence of EV Velu’s son, Kamban, in Thiruvannamalai.

Kamban presently holds the position of Director at Arunai Medical College and Hospital in Thiruvannamalai. According to sources, the searches at Kamban’s residence have been ongoing since Friday night.

Additionally, IT searches were carried out in a number of Tamil Nadu locales involving equipment providers and contractors working with the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).

About 10 locations in Chennai were raided last week, including India Private Limited and Radha Engineering Works Private Limited.
