Ranchi, May 30: Senior IAS officer Vinay Choubey, who was recently arrested by the Jharkhand Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the alleged liquor scam, has moved the Jharkhand High Court seeking quashing of the FIR and the actions taken against him.

In his petition filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Choubey has claimed that the ACB’s actions are baseless and that he has no involvement in the case.

He has requested the court to cancel the FIR and order his release from judicial custody. The petition is yet to be listed for hearing.
It may be noted that the ACB had summoned Choubey for questioning on May 21 in connection with the liquor scam. He was subsequently arrested.
He is currently in judicial custody, and the state government has suspended him considering the seriousness of the allegations.
