Jamshedpur, Dec 19: IIM Ranchi announced the commencement of the ‘Teaching with Cases’ seminar in collaboration with Harvard Business Publishing Education.
The two-day seminar, which began yesterday is taking place at IIM Ranchi’s Pitamber Block and will continue till this evening.
The seminar is specifically designed to enhance the teaching capabilities of IIM Ranchi faculties.
Focus on case-based teaching
The seminar aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of case-based teaching, a renowned pedagogical approach that promotes interactive learning and deep critical thinking.
Faculty members at IIM Ranchi are engaging in discussions around varied business cases.
These cases focus on leadership, strategic decision-making, and organizational transformation, offering invaluable lessons to refine further the faculty’s ability to engage students in meaningful, real-world problem-solving.

Prof. V.G. Narayanan to lead the seminar
Prof. V.G. Narayanan, Thomas D. Casserly, Jr. Professor of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean of Executive Education and HBS Online at Harvard Business School, facilitates the seminar.
Prof. Narayanan’s research focuses on management accounting, performance evaluation, and incentives, and he uses field experiments to explore how firms can improve performance through incentives, feedback, and motivation.
Opening the seminar Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to host this prestigious seminar for our faculty, which brings together our educators to discuss best practices in case-based teaching.
