Dhanbad, March 18:
Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, has been selected for the prestigious Shri Om Prakash Bhasin Award 2023 in the field of Engineering, including Energy and Aerospace.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, along with a citation and plaque, and recognises outstanding contributions to engineering research, innovation, and scientific leadership.

Recognition for Contributions to Energy and Technology

The Shri Om Prakash Bhasin Awards for Science and Technology honour significant contributions in both pure and applied sciences that have a strong impact on national development.

Before becoming Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, he served at IIT Delhi in key roles, including Associate Dean (R&D) and Dean at the IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi campus. He began his academic career at Sambalpur University and later contributed to Biju Patnaik University of Technology.
