Dhanbad, May 25: IIT (ISM) Dhanbad on Monday flagged off the Yuva Sangam Phase–VI delegation to IIT Indore under the Government of India’s flagship initiative Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The programme aims to promote national integration, cultural exchange, innovation, and youth engagement.

The flag-off ceremony was held at the Penman Auditorium in the presence of Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, and international athlete and Pentathlon World Championship bronze medallist Anu Kumari. Faculty members, officials, participants, and media representatives also attended the event.
A total of 42 participants from across Jharkhand, along with faculty members and officers of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, will visit IIT Indore from May 26 to June 3, 2026, as part of the national youth exchange initiative.

Director Encourages Youth to Explore New Opportunities
Addressing the participants, Professor Sukumar Mishra said that youth is defined by energy, ambition, and the courage to take on challenges. He highlighted the importance of goal-setting, healthy competition, and social interaction for personal growth.
He added that Yuva Sangam would provide participants with exposure to new ideas, cultures, and experiences, helping them unlock their true potential.
Anu Kumari Shares Inspirational Journey
Chief Guest Anu Kumari shared her journey of struggle, discipline, and perseverance that led to her success at the international level. She encouraged participants to treat failures as learning opportunities and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through innovation, technology, and hard work.
Officials Highlight Importance of Cultural Exchange
Prof. S.K. Gupta, Dean (Student Welfare), described Yuva Sangam as an important platform for cultural exchange and national integration. Registrar Prabodh Pandey congratulated the participants and urged them to represent Jharkhand’s culture and values during the visit.
Also present at the event were Prof. Parthasarathi Das, Dean (R&D); Dr. Anita Kumari, Sports Officer; and Mrityunjay Sharma, Assistant Registrar.
Yuva Sangam, launched under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, connects youth from different states through exposure to culture, education, tourism, innovation, and community engagement.
