Dhanbad, June 8: IIT (ISM) Dhanbad organised Open House 2026 for JEE (Advanced) 2026-qualified candidates and their parents on Monday, offering insights into the institute’s academic programmes, research facilities, innovation ecosystem, campus life and placement opportunities.

The event, held at the Conference Room of the Administrative Block, aimed to help aspirants make informed decisions during the JoSAA counselling process.

Institute Highlights Academic Excellence and Growth
Welcoming participants, the institute highlighted its nearly century-long legacy in higher education and research. Established in 1926 and granted IIT status in 2016, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has evolved into a multidisciplinary institution offering programmes across engineering, science, management, humanities and emerging technologies.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, encouraged students to choose academic paths aligned with their interests while taking advantage of the institute’s opportunities in research, entrepreneurship and holistic development.

Focus on Research, Innovation and Career Opportunities
The programme featured presentations on academic programmes, curriculum structure, interdisciplinary learning, research facilities, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, student support systems, internships and placements.
Faculty members and institute officials interacted with students and parents, discussing academic culture, emerging technologies, entrepreneurial opportunities and career pathways available at the institute.
Campus Tour and Interactive Session
Participants were also taken on a guided campus tour, allowing them to explore laboratories, research facilities, academic infrastructure and residential amenities.
The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session where students and parents sought clarifications on admissions, branch selection, curriculum, research opportunities and campus life.
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad said the Open House served as an important platform for aspirants to better understand the institute before making key academic decisions and reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing future leaders, innovators and researchers.
