Dhanbad, October 7: IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and Martin Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the higher education of meritorious female students through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scholarship initiative.
The MoU was signed on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of the Administrative Building of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The signing ceremony was chaired by Prof. Sanjoy Mandal, Dean (Students Welfare), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
₹5 Lakh Annual Support for 10 Students
Under the initiative, ₹5 lakh will be provided annually to support 10 meritorious female students of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students, particularly those from economically weaker and disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue their academic goals without financial constraints.
The initiative is also aimed at encouraging greater participation of women in technical and higher education while strengthening industry–academia collaboration in education and social responsibility.

Industry Support Can Make a Meaningful Difference
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ajit Kumar, Lead Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, said the initiative would provide valuable support to meritorious students and help them continue their education.

Representing Martin Engineering at the MoU signing were Ashwini Khunte, General Manager–Martin India; Dipak Sardesai, National Sales Head; Tushar Modi, Finance Head; Debajyoti Dey, Operations Head; and Rajesh Patnaik, Regional Manager.
From IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, Prof. Sanjoy Mandal, Dean (Students Welfare); Prof. Ajit Kumar, Lead Coordinator and Assistant Professor; and Prof. Niranjan Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, were present.
The collaboration marks an effort to provide sustained financial support to deserving female students while promoting inclusive access to higher education. It also strengthens IIT (ISM) Dhanbad’s engagement with industry in support of student development and educational opportunities.
