IIT ISM Dhanbad partners with METERDI Instruments for research and innovation

Dhanbad, Jan 9: The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has entered into a research collaboration with METERDI Instruments India Pvt. Ltd. to promote research, innovation and technology development.

Under the partnership, the CIIE IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Foundation and METERDI Instruments India Pvt. Ltd. have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at leveraging the academic and research strengths of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and the industrial expertise of METERDI Instruments.

Focus on applied research and innovation

An official said the collaboration will encourage applied research, skill development and indigenous product innovation, particularly in the field of advanced material testing technologies.

Both institutions will work together to facilitate knowledge exchange, support technology development, and promote innovation-driven solutions that meet industry requirements.

Boost to Make in India initiative

Special emphasis will be placed on developing indigenous engineering solutions, enhancing student and researcher exposure to real-world industrial challenges, and promoting translational research with practical applications.

The collaboration also aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, focusing on indigenous research, design and development of advanced engineering and testing solutions, and strengthening self-reliance in high-technology manufacturing and instrumentation.

Both IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and METERDI Instruments India Pvt. Ltd. expressed confidence that the partnership will lead to productive outcomes, support knowledge creation, and contribute to technological advancement in India.
