Dhanbad, July 30: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) honoured Dhanbad’s 54th Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aditya Ranjan for his bold and transparent working style during an Orientation Programme for newly admitted students of the 2025-26 academic session.
The event saw Aditya Ranjan as the Chief Guest, while IIT-ISM Deputy Director Prof. Dheeraj Kumar presided over the function.

Addressing the gathering, Aditya Ranjan urged students to not only strive for academic excellence but also remain sensitive to societal needs. He emphasized the importance of staying grounded in values such as service, humility, and perseverance.

Ranjan shared insights from his personal and professional journey, highlighting the values, challenges, and determination that shaped his career in public service.
The DC encouraged students to leverage their education for the greater good and work towards becoming future leaders committed to building a stronger and more inclusive India.

Prof. Rajni Singh, Dean (Corporate Communications), formally introduced the chief guest. The programme was also attended by Prof. M.K. Singh, Dean (Academic), and Registrar Prabodh Pandey.
