Muzaffarpur, Oct 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a massive public rally in Motipur, Muzaffarpur, as part of his Bihar Assembly election campaign, launching a sharp attack on the RJD and Congress.

Beginning his address with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” Modi spoke about the significance of Chhath Puja, describing it as more than a ritual — a festival that embodies faith, social harmony, and devotion to motherhood.

He said the Central government is making efforts to include Chhath Mahaparv in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage to give it global recognition. “When the world acknowledges Chhath as part of India’s cultural heritage, every Bihari will feel proud,” he said.

PM Modi Slams RJD-Congress for ‘Insulting Chhath’

Taking a strong dig at the opposition, Modi accused the RJD and Congress of mocking Chhath Puja. “When I am working to bring global recognition to Chhathi Maiya, these parties are ridiculing it. Can anyone insult Chhathi Maiya just for votes? Will Bihar tolerate this?” he asked.

He added that women observe a 36-hour fast and offer prayers to the Sun God while standing in the Ganga. “For RJD and Congress, this sacred festival is just a drama. But Bihar’s mothers and sisters will never tolerate such an insult,” Modi said, adding that no Bihari would ever forget this disrespect.

He emphasized that the NDA and BJP are committed to promoting Bihar’s pride, its sweet language, rich culture, and overall development. “RJD and Congress ruled Bihar for decades but gave only betrayal and false promises,” he said.

Modi Praises Muzaffarpur’s Culture and Spirit

Modi praised Muzaffarpur’s famous lychees and the sweetness of its people’s dialect, saying that the huge turnout despite heavy rain showed Bihar’s support for development.

He accused the RJD-Congress alliance of representing “five symbols of jungle raj — Katta, Kroorta, Katuta, Kushasan, and Corruption (gun, cruelty, bitterness, misgovernance, and corruption).” “Where there are guns and cruelty, law collapses. Where there is bitterness, harmony disappears. Where there is misgovernance, there can be no development. And where there is corruption, social justice dies,” Modi asserted.

‘Bihar’s Youth Will No Longer Migrate’

The Prime Minister said the NDA is determined to ensure that Bihar’s sons and daughters can find opportunities within the state. “Bihar’s youth will no longer migrate. They will work and make their name in Bihar itself,” he said, promising improvements in education, employment, healthcare, and irrigation.

He contrasted good governance with jungle raj, saying, “When there is good governance, everyone prospers; but under jungle raj, everyone suffocates.”

Modi also referred to the “GST Savings Festival” currently being celebrated across Bihar, noting that it has enabled families to save money. “Last year, around 50,000 motorcycles were sold in Bihar during September and October. This year, during the GST Savings Festival, nearly 1.5 lakh motorcycles have been sold,” he said, highlighting the state’s growing purchasing power.

‘Bihar’s Progress Is Key to a Developed India’

Underscoring Bihar’s historical and cultural significance, Modi said, “When India led in knowledge and economy, Bihar was its strength. For a developed India, Bihar’s development is essential.” He added that the NDA’s mission is to give Bihar’s culture global recognition and take the state to new heights of progress.

Following his Muzaffarpur rally, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address another public meeting in Chhapra to campaign for NDA candidates.
