New Delhi, August 19: Union Minister for Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and Make in India has taken a significant step forward with the nationwide rollout of Advanced Postal Technology (APT) by India Post.
Highlighting the initiative, Scindia noted that the fully indigenous platform will empower India Post to deliver mobile-friendly, citizen-first services accessible anytime and anywhere, while also driving real-time decision-making, enhancing e-commerce reach, and cutting operational costs through automation.

The project, backed by an investment of ₹5,800 crore under IT 2.0, is set to transform India Post into a world-class public logistics organisation.

Scindia described the launch as a “historic leap in Bharat’s digital journey,” underscoring that APT represents Aatmanirbhar Bharat in action, strengthening the foundation of a self-reliant Digital India.
