Mangalore, Sept 8: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has achieved a major milestone by commissioning India’s largest underground LPG storage cavern at Mangalore. The facility, constructed beneath on-surface installations, began charging with LPG after receiving statutory approvals in August 2025.

With the commissioning of this cavern, the Mangalore LPG Import Facility (MLIF) has increased its storage capacity from 25.2 TMT to 105.2 TMT.
