New Delhi, August 23: India is preparing to launch Chandrayaan-4, the next mission in its lunar exploration program, ISRO chairman V. Narayanan announced at the National Space Day event in New Delhi.

The mission will be accompanied by a planned Venus Orbiter, marking another leap in planetary exploration.

Narayanan also outlined India’s broader space ambitions, including the establishment of the Bharatiya Antriksh Station (BAS) by 2035, with its first module expected to lift off in 2028.

Looking ahead, he said India aims to achieve a lunar landing and return mission by 2040, a milestone that would place the country’s space program on par with the world’s leading powers.

These projects will be powered by the government-approved Next Generation Launcher (NGL), underscoring the scale of India’s long-term vision for space exploration.
