Jamshedpur, Dec 28: As the year comes to a close, the Sikh community is gearing up for the 24th Mahan Kirtan Darbar, a spiritual congregation to express gratitude for the old year and usher in the new one. The event, organised by Guru Nanak Seva Dal and supported by sister organization Veer Khalsa Seva Dal, will take place on the grounds of Sakchi Gurudwara on December 30th and 31st.

Preparations for the grand event have reached a crescendo, with the Guru Nanak Seva Dal and Veer Khalsa Seva Dal ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the under-construction pandal at Sakchi Gurudwara ground. Harvinder Singh Mantu, President of Guru Nanak Seva Dal, shared the details of the event, emphasizing the care and facilities provided for the Sangat.
Shobha Yatra, Kirtan Darbar
A special highlight of this year’s Mahan Kirtan Darbar is the appointment of Charanjit Singh as the press spokesperson of Guru Nanak Seva Dal, a role unanimously agreed upon by all office bearers.

The celebrations will kick off with a Shobha Yatra (auspicious procession) starting from Sakchi Gurudwara at 9:30 am on December 30th, leading to the adorned pandal. Sikh Sangat members are urged to participate enthusiastically.

The Kirtan Darbar will commence following the procession, featuring divine hymns both in the morning and evening. As the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, the Sangat will bid farewell to the old year by chanting Waheguru and showering flowers, ushering in the new year with prayers for the prosperity of India.
Health camp, no fireworks
President Mantu announced a ban on fireworks during the function, highlighting the Sakchi Gurdwara Management Committee’s support for the entire program. Charanjit Singh, as the newly appointed press spokesperson, will play a crucial role in communicating the essence of the event to the public.
Additionally, on December 31st, a health check-up camp organized by Guru Nanak Hospital, Mango, will provide free services from 9 am to 3 pm. Experienced doctors in various specialties, including physicians, paediatricians, orthopedics, and surgeons, will be available to serve the Sangat. Mantu encouraged the Sangat to take advantage of this health check-up camp.
Distinguished personalities, including Singh Saheb Giani Maan Singh, former Granthi at Shri Darbar Saheb Amritsar, and other eminent figures, will grace the Mahan Kirtan Darbar.
The press conference saw the presence of key figures, including General Secretary Shyam Singh Bhatia, Treasurer Ajit Singh Gambhir, and various other office bearers and supporters of Guru Nanak Seva Dal. The Mahan Kirtan Darbar promises to be a harmonious blend of spiritual devotion and community celebrations.
