Ranchi, Oct 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its second list of candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections.

The party has named two candidates in the second list: Gamliyel Hembrom for the Barhait constituency and Vikash Mahato for the Tundi constituency.

Hembrom will compete against Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren in the Barhait constituency. Soren has held the seat since 2014.

In the Tundi constituency, the contest will be between Vikash Mahato and JMM candidate Mathura Prasad Mahato, who secured victory in the 2019 assembly election with over 72,000 votes. Mathura defeated BJP’s Vikram Pandey, who garnered 46,000 votes to secure second place.
