Ranchi, August 23: Jharkhand’s Anti-Terrorism Squad has achieved a major breakthrough with the extradition of gangster Mayank Singh, also known as Sunil Meena, from Baku, Azerbaijan—the first such operation in the state’s history.
Singh, who faces nearly 50 criminal cases in Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and other states, was flown to Ranchi and is set to be produced in the Ramgarh court, where the ATS will seek his remand.

Investigators believe Singh played a crucial role as a connecting link between jailed gangster Aman Sahu and the Lawrence Bishnoi network, strengthening ties between the two groups even from behind bars.

Officials emphasized that this extradition marks a significant step forward, expressing confidence that other fugitives hiding abroad will also be brought back through extradition or deportation in the near future.
