Ranchi, August 22: Jharkhand’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) detained seven individuals alleged of having ties to Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) during raids across various locations in the state on Thursday, an official reported.

The official stated that the raids, initiated early in the morning, targeted 14 locations across Ranchi, Hazaribag, and Lohardaga after receiving intelligence about AQIS sleeper cell agents.

Superintendent of Police (ATS) Rishabh Jha told PTI that arrests will be made based on the results of the evidence being verified. The raids are ongoing, and around seven individuals with alleged links to the organization have been detained so far.
