Ranchi, Sept 23: The Jharkhand Biodiversity Board (JBB) organized a workshop on the occasion of the 10th Ayurveda Day with the theme “Little Steps to Wellness: Ayurveda Awareness for Students & Ayurveda for Plant Health.”
The event was held under the guidance of Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Member Secretary of the Board.
Participants highlighted Ayurveda’s role in promoting healthy lifestyles in the modern era and stressed its practical applications in daily life. They emphasized that even small changes in routine can lay the foundation for long-term wellness.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Kumar underlined the importance of spreading awareness among villagers about conserving biodiversity, protecting medicinal plants, and preserving traditional knowledge regarding their uses.
He also spoke on the significance of plantation drives involving diverse species for the state’s overall development, and urged that such programs be extended to Gram Panchayat levels.
Ayurvedic practitioners (Vaidyas) and farmers present at the workshop appreciated the vision of the PCCF and assured their full support for similar initiatives by the Board. They also reiterated their commitment to reconnecting people with traditional Ayurveda practices.

Among those who attended were Ayurvedic practitioners Bandhan Singh Kherwar, Khileshwar Singh Kherwar, Amita Kumari, Balbhadra Sahi, Somara Munda, Baldev Sahu, Jaykaran Kherwar, Shivlochan Singh Kherwar, Dinesh Karmyogi, and Arun Prasad Soni.
Farmers including Birsa Oraon, Sangeeta Devi, Bodhan Urain, Manju Kacchap, Bhagmani Tirkey, Krishna Oraon, and Sunil Kacchap were also present.
