Dhanbad, Feb 15: BIT Sindri, on Thursday, set up the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) students branch in the institution.
NIT Durgapur Director Prof Arvind Choubey was the chief guest on occasion and inaugurated the ambitious students branch of the world body.
BIT Director Dr Pankaj Rai, Dr Amit Kumar Choudhary, Dr Vinit Shekhar, Dr Nirmala Soren, coordinator Prof Sanjay Pal, Prof Rajesh Narayan, Dr Dipesh Kumar, Prof Pravin Kumar also graced the function.

Importance of IEEE
While inaugurating the branch, Prof Arvind Choubey shed light on the importance of IEEE in the institution. He said that the branch will play a significant role in increasing technical skill development and innovation.
Prof Choubey, while sharing his experience with BIT Sindri faculty members and students, called upon students to develop the habit of learning new things and search for their choices in technology.
Developing technical skill
“Setting up the IEEE branch will prove to be a pillar of BIT Sindri, which will help students develop their technical skills, participate in advanced projects, and establish a network with industry experts,” said the NIT Durgapur director.
On the occasion, BIT Sindri Electrical Engineering Department head Dr Md Abul Kalam shed light on the mission and importance of IEEE in the institution.
“From an excellence and cooperation point of view, IEEE is ready to define a new boundary of innovation and encourage a new generation,” said Dr Abdul Kalam.
