Ranchi, January 23: BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today hailed the Delhi High Court’s nod to a Lokpal/CBI probe into the assets of JMM chief Shibu Soren.
He also demanded to book Chief Minister Hemant Soren for violating the prohibitory order when the ED interrogated him on January 20.

Lokpal to root out corruption
Marandi said that the Lokpal has been formed to root out corruption and loot. He said that in 2020, MP Nishikant Dubey had applied the Lokpal to investigate the illegal movable and immovable property acquired by Shibu Soren by misusing his power and position.

He said that Congress, JMM and RJD have an old relationship with corruption.
They also indulge in corruption and use various tricks to avoid punishment. They blame the BJP but run away from the investigation.
‘Why CM runs away from probe?’
He said that Shibu Soren’s family and Chief Minister Hemant Soren talked about not doing corruption. “Then why do they run away from the investigating agencies, why do they run to the High Court, Supreme Court to stop the investigation?” he asked.
He said that Shibu Soren’s family says that the Lokpal case is old. “But if a thief is caught after five or 10 years, will a case not be filed against him?” he asked.
He said that this is a matter of Lokpal. There will be a CBI investigation. “Be it earning money through a shell company or the business relationship of the Soren family with Amit Aggarwal, all will be exposed,” he asserted.
Marandi said that the decision of Delhi High Court may have come with some delay but it is a good decision.
He said that in future no one will dare to hide corruption.
Book CM for violating Section 144
On the question of booking the CRPF officers allegedly violating the prohibitory order enforced on January 20, Marandi said that the biggest culprit, in this case, is Chief Minister Hemant Soren who was addressing the crowd while standing on a vehicle under Section 144. “First of all, a case should be registered against them,” he maintained.
He said that the CRPF officers were doing their duty. “The way hired ponies with bows and arrows and weapons were standing outside the Chief Minister’s residence during the interrogation of the CM, the security of the ED officials was at stake. After all, why were so many people called on the day of interrogation? Some officers were made tools to spoil the atmosphere,” he maintained.
He said that Hemant Soren cannot escape no matter how many tricks he uses. “The place for such corrupt people is in Hotwar jail,” he asserted.
State media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak, co-media in-charge Ashok Badaik, state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo were present at the press conference.
