Ranchi, April 15: The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved a wide range of decisions aimed at improving public services, boosting infrastructure, and providing relief to citizens across sectors.

Relief for Employees and Pensioners

  • Dearness Allowance (DA) increased for state government employees under 5th and 6th pay scales (effective July 1, 2025)
  • Dearness Relief (DR) hiked for pensioners and family pensioners

Healthcare and Medical Education Boost

  • Four district hospitals (Dhanbad, Khunti, Giridih, Jamtara) to be upgraded into medical colleges
  • Foreign Medical Graduates to get internship opportunities with stipends in state hospitals
  • Financial aid approved for treatment of a critically ill child under the state health scheme

Education, Skills and Youth Development

  • State-level Science & Technology Quiz and Robotics Festival approved for students
  • STEM-related events to be promoted in technical institutions
  • Restructuring of universities and colleges, including Nilamber Pitamber University and J.C. Bose University

Infrastructure and Urban Development

  • ₹162 crore approved for widening of Namkum–Doranda road in Ranchi
  • ₹153 crore project cleared for interstate bus terminal and commercial complex in Jamshedpur
